Feeding the Baby Jesus in the Wilderness

According to one infancy narrative (there are many stories told about the childhood of Jesus in various apocryphal gospels), the parents of Jesus have to find a way of feeding their child in the wilderness. There is a date palm tree, under which they stop to take rest. When Mary reaches up to try and get the fruit of the date palm, the tree bends down so that she can reach its dates. Here the idea is that the whole of nature is part of the worship offered to the Divine Child.
