Jesus with the woman at the well.

Jesus spoke to a Samaritan woman who came to draw water from a well. The Samaritans were considered "unclean" and untouchable. Jesus asked the woman to give him some water to drink. She was surprised that a Rabbi of the Jews, a Guru, should ask for water from a poluted woman. A conversation between Jesus and the woman then followed, in which he revealed that he himself was the source of the water of life, and that in his eyes there was no difference between those who are thought to be ritually clean, and those who are rejected as impure by society. A similar story is told of Ananda, the most beloved disciple of the Buddha, who also asked for water to drink from an untouchable lowcaste woman.
